In 2017, PROF, in partnership with our generous community members, awarded 15 unique scholarships totaling approximately $48,000 to Pine-Richland High School seniors. The total number of scholarships and award amounts varies from year to year. Each scholarship is sponsored by individuals and organizations that set their own unique criteria which PROF then administers to reach the largest number of potential candidates.

Central Blood Bank Scholarship - 2 scholarships at $1875 each
The “Learning to Support Life” scholarship is awarded to a senior(s) who has donated blood, volunteered in the blood drive canteen or otherwise volunteered in efforts to recruit donors while also demonstrating a breadth of community service activity throughout their high school career. The scholarship amount is based on blood drive contributions from the community and may be awarded to more than one recipient.
Gallagher-Lynne College Opportunity Grant - $7500 (offered; not awarded in 2017)
This grant is generously sponsored by Ken and Barbara Judson and is awarded to a graduating senior who has attended Pine-Richland for his/her entire junior and senior years. The applicant must demonstrate how this grant will provide a life-changing opportunity to attend college by sharing in an essay how college may not otherwise be possible without this grant due to personal obstacles, life experiences, and/or family circumstances. Please note: financial need alone is not sufficient to qualify for this grant. Special consideration is given to those applicants who are nominated by a teacher, administrator, coach or other individual. Please see nominating criteria. An interview may be required.
Gene Haas Foundation Scholarship - $5250
This CNC (Computer Numerical Control) technology scholarship is awarded to a graduating senior who attended Pine-Richland for his/her entire junior and senior years. Applicants must plan to attend an institution of higher learning (college, university, technical school, or certification program) and pursue a major or concentration utilizing CNC technology. Fields/majors might include CNC machinist technology, robotics, or engineering. In addition, applicants must have taken a machine-based training course (on or off PRHS campus).
Jeff Calhoun Performing Arts Scholarship - 4 scholarships at $2500 each
This performing arts scholarship is awarded to one or more graduating Pine-Richland students who are planning to pursue a career in the performing arts and meets the scholarship criteria. The student should be a performing artist, including but not limited to: actor, singer, dancer, musician, composer, playwright, technical crew, or director. The applicant is responsible for submitting a video with his/her application for Mr. Calhoun's review. See Jeff Calhoun bio.
King Family Scholarship - 2 scholarships at $3750 each
This scholarship is awarded to a graduating Pine-Richland senior student whose career objective is to help other people. Typical undergraduate majors would be education, health services, medical fields, and social services. Special consideration is given to financial need.
Kyle Pomerleau Memorial Scholarship - 2 scholarships at $1000 each
This kindness scholarship is awarded to a Pine-Richland senior who has participated in band and/or orchestra in grades 9-12, is a strong student, and demonstrates genuine goodwill and compassion to others in the classroom and school environment.
Monica Young Memorial Scholarship - $1500
This scholarship will be awarded to one or more graduating Pine-Richland students with learning disabilities who have an interest in furthering their education through a trade, technical or vocational school, university or college. The ideal candidate should demonstrate good academic effort, participate in activities during high school, exhibit a positive attitude, and have an identified longer term work goal.
Pasquinelli Scholarship - $1000
This leadership scholarship is awarded to a graduating Pine-Richland senior who has participated in at least three extracurricular activities, for a minimum of two years, during high school and possesses a strong work ethic, positive attitude, and leadership qualities.
Pine-Richland High School PTO Scholarship - $1000
The “We Are PR” scholarship is awarded to a student who demonstrates excellent character and is resilient, hard-working and caring towards others. Special consideration is given to those applicants who are nominated by a teacher, administrator, coach or other individual and shows great promise for success. The PRHS PTO Scholarship Committee selects the recipient of this scholarship.
Richland Civic Club Scholarship - $1000
This service scholarship is awarded to a graduating senior who has attended Pine-Richland for his/her entire junior and senior years. Applications are evaluated based primarily upon service to the school and community with consideration given for financial need, academics, activities and leadership.
Richland Elementary PTO - $500
This scholarship is sponsored by the Richland PTO and is awarded to a graduating senior who has attended Pine-Richland for grades K-12, starting at Richland Elementary School.
Rich-Mar Rotary Club Scholarship - 2 scholarships at $2000 each
This service to others scholarship is awarded to a graduating Pine-Richland High School senior(s). The selection criteria includes an emphasis on a student's history of the Rotary ideal of “service above self” as demonstrated by their involvement in establishing and/or participating in organizations that serve the community and the world. The student's academic achievement and leadership are also evaluated. Finalists will be invited to a final interview. The Rich-Mar Rotary Club Scholarship Selection Committee selects the recipient(s) of this scholarship.
Robert and Aileen Zollweg Scholarship - $7000
Thanks to the generosity of Robert and Aileen Zollweg, this financial need scholarship is awarded to a graduating senior who has attended Pine-Richland for grades 9-12. Applicants must share how this scholarship will help them afford/attend college. An interview may be required.
Scott Crawford Memorial Scholarship - $1000
This academic/athletic scholarship is awarded to a graduating senior who has attended Pine-Richland for grades 9 – 12 and has been a member of the National Honor Society for two years. The applicant must have participated in the same interscholastic athletic program for at least three seasons and have have participated in at least five extracurricular activities during high school.
Sodexo Services - $2000
This quality of life services scholarship is awarded to a graduating senior who has attended Pine-Richland for grades 9-12 and is planning to pursue an education and career in food services, nutrition, or hospitality industry. A Sodexo representative will select the scholarship recipient from among qualifying applicants.
Wexford Scholarship - $500
This scholarship is sponsored by the Wexford PTO and is awarded to a graduating senior who has attended Pine-Richland for grades K – 12, beginning at Wexford Elementary School.
