Killian 5K Race

THE KILLIAN 5K RUN/WALK
The Killian5k Run/Walk takes place Saturday, July 27, 2024, in Allison Park at the North Park Boathouse on the Picturesque' North Park Lake.  Widely considered one of the Best Summer 5k Races in Pittsburgh, you can't miss this one and it's for an Amazing Cause. Proceeds benefit the Killian Cavanaugh Scholarship Funds.

This scholarship will honor a Pine-Richland Student/Athlete who best exemplifies Killian’s qualities and spirit. The recipient must have at least a 3.8 GPA and participate in a Varsity sport.
Killian had the ability to change lives of even those with whom he shared the briefest encounters.  He was charmingly social yet deeply introspective.  He was once a sober intellectual and a vigorous athlete.  He was witty but not facetious.  He was assertive but never mean.  He was an old soul, with a quiet pose and a supreme classiness.  He was selfless and understanding, a loving son and brother.  Killian loved genuineness and honesty and vulnerability in friends.  He defied stereotypes and easy assumptions. He always tried to see the good in people and always lived in the moment. Killian enjoyed playing baseball and football and taking the most rigorous classes. He was attending The University of Chicago.
